The college entrance heist.
Presentation:
Probably the best Thai film Iโve watched and one of the better foreign movies on Netflix. That doesnโt mean much when Iโve only watched 3 Thai films. Although Bad Genius is meant for Asian audiences nodding to hardcore experiences of grueling testing unknown to the west, itโs presented like a heightened heist making for a compelling watch even if the stakes seem banal. Itโs reminiscent of late 2000s popcorn flicks, but itโs actually a pretty great thriller at some parts.
Conclusion:
The lead in this film is meant to be a star and is the sole reason I am curious about Thai cinema. Unfortunately, though her performance was acceptable in Hunger, that was not worth the watch. A one and done magic in the bottle never to be replicated again, definitely check this one out on Netflix if you want a fresh thriller.
