Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Gimme some of your tots!
Presentation:
You could say Superbad is more iconic than this film, but there’s something special about this film that makes it transcend its time period whereas Superbad is only timely for the early 2000s. This comedy is timeless and so quotable with surprisingly good cinematography resembling the quirkiness of Wes Anderson but still rooted in reality. It’s just so much fun with one of the most infections character arcs and iconic dance scenes in cinema. Jon Heder transforms into an unrecognizable comedic genius here.
Conclusion:
Quite reminiscent in some ways to Grandma’s Boy, there should be plenty of laughs and connection with the silly cast. The ultimate loser movie, it’s hard to imagine not falling in love with these nerds. A teen movie with less mainstream appeal of Mean Girls, but more offbeat cinematic greatness as a result.
