The art of claymation.

Presentation:

Avant garde shorts donโ€™t usually enter the Hall of Spice because theyโ€™re not exactly feature films and this one is 10 minutes long. But Jan Svankmajer makes an exception because his claymation transcends the genre. In my opinion, Svankmajer is the most influential figure in modern stop motion due to his visionary style. Before you call movies art, you need to see what this Czech artist can do, reimagining mundane life in the most surreal expressionist style. Svankmajer has many shorts and features, but this is his magnum opus and what Iโ€™d recommend watching first.

Conclusion:

Not only does this experimental art piece open up your mind to creative ideas, itโ€™s free to watch online. Iโ€™d also recommend watching his collection of shorts compiled into a feature length film, but this is definitely the entry film to watch. Even if youโ€™re not into expressionist art, this is so short and free that itโ€™s hard to imagine youโ€™d regret watching this masterpiece.
