Good Will Hunting (1997)
Heโs Wicked smaht.
Presentation:
The successful trio from Boston show once again that if you want to make it in the film industry, all you need is a script and the will. Actually a lot of famous directors and actors have started this way when you think about it. The drama they've written is actually well devised despite being self-aggrandizing, but not in the most pretentious way as characters still feel very much grounded with serious flaws. This story has a lot of heart, colloquial banter and touching relationship dynamics. This was very influential on me as a child with raw convincing performances.
Conclusion:
This is my pick for one of the best dramas, but I feel will not speak to some as Chili found it unimpressive. I have a feeling it will be more relatable for men, and I personally found it emotional with strong performances. The clinical psychology is engaging and perfectly succinct. For those that have ever felt society has turned their back on them or wanted people to recognize their potential, this will be a very satisfying film. How you like them apples?
