Cherishing the fragility of love.

Presentation:

This film captures the beauty of Korea and demonstrates why Korea does romance so well. It is such a shame how unknown this film is. Released around the same time as The Notebook, I believe this is the better true romance. I think itโ€™s more universal than My Sassy Girl, though it will probably speak to men a little bit more. Most men should emphasize with the cold defensive lead, though everyone will undoubtedly adore the dedication of the female counterpart.

Conclusion:

A better romance than My Sassy Girl, this is a top 5 moving romance Iโ€™ve seen. Despite being Korean, I think the feelings are universal here. The trials and tribulations, humor and social commentary make this drama bigger than life, though some of the social hierarchy may be lost on non-asian audiences. This one is truly a gut wrenching tear jerker but may still make you believe that love can surmount all odds.
