One of the best romantic comedies.
Presentation:
Realizing that I rate romance movies harshly, I felt obligated to include rom-coms that I do like. I actually am human and enjoy the silly rom-com from time to time, but they often donโt seem like a right fit in the Hall of Spice. The cinematography in My Sassy Girl differs in that it perfectly captures the beauty of 2000s Korea. But what matters in this comedy romance is the story, which is both stomach-cramping hilarious and heartwarming. There has been an American remake of this film, but much is lost in translation and does not have the same magic as this original. You'll wish you could find an endearing Korean girl just like Jun Jihyun. The film is so funny as this is comedy first and romance second. The characters are dysfunctional yet also sincere and heartfelt. The sass is so playful and their chemistry is spot on, something you just wonโt see from Western cinema. You'll wish for more between these two before the credits roll.
Conclusion:
One of the top romcoms I can think of. Insanely funny, you couldnโt possibly hate this film! Timeless as well, it has likely influenced a whole generation of personalities and tropes especially in Korean. They sure know their romcoms. These two passed the ship test!
