Lars And The Real Girl (2007)
Oh, you donโt like real girls?
Presentation:
A weird film, that is not so crazy compared to todays standards and state of love. The film has a bit of a Fargo look, and it's also quite shocking how much Ryan Gosling's look has transformed since this role.
Conclusion:
The only thing memorable about this film is the premise. Unfortunately nothing particularly sticks out other than Ryan Gosling's believable delusions, which don't translate well today when people are much crazier and even promoted for it. The pain Gosling's character goes through is relatable, but I'm not sure what more can be extracted by watching this film today. An interesting concept alone doesnโt make a movie.
