Inglorious Basterds (2009)
Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece.
Presentation:
Tarantino has made many fantastic films, but none have accentuated his style so well as this film, which is perfectly set in Nazi Germany. As his films are very unique and have little basis of comparison except to themselves. I don't think this film is as culturally impactful, novel or even better overall as Pulp Fiction, but is more polished and representative of everything Tarantino aspires to. If you don't believe that this is his masterpiece, just pay attention to last lines of this film with his own meta commentary.
Conclusion:
This films has everything a Tarantino film represents. Cathartic violence, unpredictable storytelling, explosive turn of events, vibrant characters, snappy pop cultural reference dialogue, but done so in the most polished and masterful way. This is peak tarantino style.
