Greyhound (2020)
Seasick of streaming platform slop.
Presentation:
I don’t know why Apple TV decided to make this expensive film that no one asked for, but you do get to see Tom Hanks on the phone in crisis mode again. The CGI on this film is terrible, made worse by a color grade trying too hard to sustain the presentation of this film. There are basically 3 locations in this film and a ton of lackluster battleship sequences.
Conclusion:
I’m not sure why I even bothered to finish this film. There’s nothing really of value to this film, it seems like it was a chore to make with the only redeeming quality being the rock that is Tom Hanks. It’s basically the Tom Hanks show and the only reason to watch, but why not watch his better films again than this production line slop? Let’s be clear, no one wanted this movie, it’s a safe play from Apple simply to fill out a catalogue of film quotas giving us what Apple thinks people would want to watch. Frankly the only reason I bothered to review it is because it’s one of the few notable Apple TV films I’ve watched.
