Snake oil salesmen never change.
Presentation:
Martin Scorsese isn’t particularly known for his humor despite most of his films having a lot of subtle dark humor. So when he strays from his usual genre to make a comedy, it must mean the script is hilarious. There are so many iconic scenes from this film that make it very quotable and memorable. The short cameo from Matthew McConaughey is the one time I’ve seen DiCaprio upstaged in that fashion. It’s a boisterous, rowdy riot with a great story to boot. Margot Robbie looked like a billion bucks in the theatre and Jonah Hill supports the soul of this movie.
Conclusion:
This is nearly a must watch film. It’s one of those films where if someone hasn’t watched it, you’d ask them, “How haven’t seen Wolf of Wall Street??”. It’s a great time, a classic Scorsese script with social commentary. Normally it’s powdered wigs, but it’s awesome to see suits engage in this level of absurdity. More ludes!
