Saving the princess is always a feel-good fairy tale.
Presentation:
The Princess Bride is a light family friendly flick for all ages that is one of the most fun feel good movies set in the medieval era. Itโs visually and tonally comparable to Steven Spielberg epics like Raiders of the Lost Ark blending humor and sword dueling action with appropriate balance. Itโs a lighthearted, very PG and safe film. If you like those types of films, then this will be a perfect movie for you and is beloved by many for its nostalgia.
Conclusion:
In 2024 this save the princess fairy tale feels outdated but could still be a film that youโll enjoy watching by yourself. For the serious cinema enjoyers it might feel cliche because itโs not really ashamed or pretending to be anything bigger. I really enjoyed this as a kid but itโs just too goofy and campy rewatching as an adult. If you like these family fairy tale quest epics, this adventure is one you wouldnโt mind watching again and again, even if itโs associated with cable TV. I personally get bored of PG films especially after watching them in bits and pieces so many times, even if the lines are iconic. Offer me money and power, prepare to die!
