Lucky Number Slevin (2006)
Back when guys had movie nights.
Presentation:
Considering which personal nostalgic flicks to add to the Hall of Spice, thereโs something about Lucky Number Slevin that I could never shake throughout the years. I have fond memories of this caper partly because like most boys, I found slick hitmen irresistibly cool. The hallmark of any good flick is even when you know the ending, you can enjoy the experience watching it the second or third time around. Josh Hartnett has a goofier Brad Pitt coolness and Bruce Willis never disappoints. Add in Morgan Freeman, Lucy Liu, Ben Kingsley, intrigue, twists and you have a recipe for popcorn cinema.
Conclusion:
Back when guys werenโt afraid to be guys, they released unapologetic gangster flicks. A great flashback when movies were still cool and you could Cable TV and Sleepover at your friendโs house without shame. And a pretty original script too - Kansas City Shuffle!
