The Gentlemen (2019)
Gangsters don’t care for your political correctness.
Presentation:
It's a Guy Ritchie film, it's going to be moderately offensive. Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam and Colin Farrell were born to do a gangster film on marijuana dealing. McConaughey is magnetic but I think Hunnam steals the show as the charismatic drug dealer. This film lets your guard down for its runtime, making you feel safe to use a few cuss words, some political incorrect language, and relaxed enough to throw your hair back and put your feet up. It has the same appeal as Peaky Blinders, glorifying European gangsters and hustling. But this one has style and has a bit of lighthearted pep in its step that makes you root for the bad guys the whole time.
Conclusion:
For people offended by this film, maybe you should light one up. Because if you’re cinematically conservative, then why are you watching a marijuana film to begin with? It's a snide chortle that is not meant for some of the uptight people that cannot differentiate playful banter and reality. It's lighthearted gangster shenanigans in a posh British setting. Doesn’t get more of a gentleman’s “Hell yea!” than that!
