Never mess with a manโ€™s brother.

Presentation:

Praised for its ending, this English indie film has the grit of British cinema. Itโ€™s evidently low budget, but thereโ€™s something about the cinematography that communicates this isnโ€™t your ordinary handheld indie movie. I wouldnโ€™t say the presentation is unconventional, rather it has a disdain for the conventional. Itโ€™s in the shadow of Guy Ritchie movies except with more darkness afforded by its themes and black and white flashbacks. Paddy Considine is okay, and you may need subtitles to understand his colloquial accent.

Conclusion:

Like most indie films, itโ€™s best watched as a surprise bag not knowing what to expect. But because I entered this waiting for its recommended ending, I wasnโ€™t blown away. Itโ€™s definitely a surprise, but the payoff isnโ€™t particularly noteworthy compared to spicier films.
