Carnival of Souls (1962)

Thinking about the next ride alreadyโ€ฆ

Summary:

For those that like David Lynch or Kubrick, this B horror may be right up your alley. This is a short carnival ride that is perhaps creepy but never scary. There are aspects of this film that may feel cheaply made like the plot and cliche organ music, yet also quite artistic like the cinematography and bridge sequences. Overall I found this to be a short carnival ride with the novelty fading off within the first 15 minutes. Itโ€™s not a substantial movie, but it is worth adding to the Hall of Spice because at least its interesting. This is by all intents and purposes a popcorn flick in 2026, especially since no adult should find this scary.
