Edge of Tomorrow (2014)
A typical, yet effectively entertaining blockbuster
Presentation:
This is one of those sci-fi blockbusters that could be playing in the background on your TV and you will still find yourself distracted enough to keep turning back to watch. Tom Cruise just has that magnetic star quality making it hard for you to take your eyes off the screen, no matter if you already know the ending. Even for a typical blockbuster, it’s well conceived with an interesting script and good cast.
Conclusion:
Everything comes together surprisingly well for this film. Emily Blunt is also a great pair to Cruise despite not normally being associated with such roles. Aliens, time travel, action, the film combines fan pleasing devices while managing to escape all the traps we’d normally expect for a sci-fi mainstream movie. A very entertaining flick with just a bit of sauce that allows you to watch it again and again.
