Boiling Point (2021)

Presentation:
The film essentially follows the same high octane stress of Safdie brothers films in a fitting culinary setting. The film is impressively presented as one shot, which perhaps takes away some of the tension especially when it breaks away from the main character. The film has realistic grit and immerses you in the shoes of the main character.
Conclusion:
It's always impressive when a film is presented as one shot. The amount of planning and coordination is tight an takes place entirely in the restaurant. There are many ups and downs for the protagonist and the only complaint I have is some the points of contention seem quite forced, which work for Safdies brothers but not here due to the grounded presentation. I think I still prefer Safdies films because there is typically an emotional reward at the end, but in this film it simply ends. But somehow there are plans for a spinoff for this film so who knows. An impressive hybrid style drama that captures the stress and backstage of the culinary profession. But you may finish the film feeling nothing lost nothing gained.
